William Brock, an 81-year-old man from South Charleston, has been charged with murder. Authorities allege that he shot and killed a 61-year-old female Uber driver named Loletha Hall. The chain of events began with a scam phone call made to the suspect

An investigation revealed that Brock received scam calls at his house. The same caller contacted an Uber driver through the app to pick up a package at Brock’s house. However, the driver wasn’t aware that Brock had been threatened. When she arrived to pick up the package, she made contact with him.

The tragic event occurred when Brock gunned down Loletha Hall, resulting in her being shot multiple times. When authorities arrived, they found her on the ground.
Loletha Hall was taken to Kettering Health Main Campus in Dayton but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
Court records indicate that Brock pleaded not guilty to the charge in Clark County Municipal Court. He is currently being held in jail on a $200,000 bond.
