The body of Abigail, the makeup artist who died from drowning with Junior Pope and three others when their boat capsized has been buried by the side of the River 9ja in which she drowned.

According to tradition, anyone that dies by drowning must be buried by the river he died in, unless some traditional sacrifices which are quite expensive are made before they can be buried anywhere else.
Unfortunately, her family were unable to raise the money to perform those sacrifices to transfer her body to Akwa Ibom so they decided to bury her by the side of the River as it is supposed to be.
She was buried in the night and her father was there to bid her farewell. It is unknown if other family members of hers were able to make it to the burial grounds. May she rest in peace.
